Twist on Cancer: Loved getting to know Elizabeth. Turns out we went to the same high school! She has such a positive and peaceful personality.

I would like people to know that 20% of people with lung cancer have no history of tobacco use. It is becoming more common in healthy women under the age of 50.

"Where the Light Enters"
Oil on Canvas with Gold Leaf
18 x 24, 12 x 16, 12 x 16 (three paintings)

Artist Statement: My work is inspired by Rumi’s quote, "The wound is where the light enters," and the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where cracks are
mended with gold to highlight, rather than hide, imperfections.
Connecting with Caroline Epp was an incredibly moving experience. She was generous with her time and story, and I felt deeply
honored to share that space with her. Her strength in vulnerability was profound—she even shared X-rays, which inspired me to explore
the nonlinear, often abstract nature of healing. Through our conversations, I sought to capture the resilience and beauty in her journey,
emphasizing that strength and transformation emerge from our fractures.
These paintings are a reflection of her story and the images she shared.
