Artist Statement: My inspiration, Ileana, is just a shining ray of light. She is one of the most positive people I have ever met. She has turned a confusing, overwhelming diagnosis and situation into something inspirational. The artwork depicts the rays of light, the love and energy she exudes, and a beautiful pink lotus which can grow and blossom through almost anything. The painting also has two small hearts representing her two beautiful children, and was done with her favorite colors.
