Artist Statement: First, I can honestly say I was one way BEFORE I met Merton, and after ONE conversation with this true inspiration, I was forever changed. I tried to capture Mert's life in bars of colors based on his life-changing events. Each bar, no matter how tough, how joyful, how mundane, has made up all that Mert is and each moment is essential to who Mert is today. Mert has a lot of life to live and a lot of love to give, and I hope I did his story justice for his sake. Such an honor...Much Love Mert
