Twist on Cancer: I will never say “thank you cancer” but it has changed how I live my life. Getting diagnosed with Stage IV neuroendocrine at the age of 30 threw my whole life for a loop. I’m still here seven years later and thriving. Cancer has made me take risks I’m not sure I would have taken without the diagnosis. I started living my life the way I wanted. I don’t call myself a cancer survivor, I call myself a cancer badass because that is what cancer has made me become. I do cancer advocacy as a way to make meaning of this crazy thing that happened to me. I share my story for those who aren’t ready to share theirs or those who are no longer here to share.
