Artist Statement: Amy and I chatted numerous times on the phone and met in person for a bike ride.

I’m amazed at how much we have in common: our love for animals and nature, passion for cycling, for building and making things, and steampunk design.

Amy shared her experience of everything around her becoming vivid when she received her lung cancer diagnosis. I had the very same sensory sensation when my mother was diagnosed with brain cancer.

I wanted to make a piece that reflected these things. I hope I succeeded.

And I truly hope our friendship continues after this program.
