Twist on Cancer: Cancer changed my life in ways I never expected. Facing breast cancer twice pushed me to redefine my priorities, embrace resilience, and truly understand the power of mindset. I learned that healing is not just physical—it’s emotional, mental, and even spiritual.

One of the biggest lessons I took away is that we are stronger than we think. I chose not to have reconstruction after my mastectomy, and while that decision wasn’t easy, it taught me to focus on what truly matters: being alive, healthy, and at peace with myself.

Cancer also led me to my true calling—helping others navigate stress, burnout, and well-being. I now use my journey to support and inspire others, showing them that even in the face of adversity, we can rebuild, redefine, and thrive.

Artist Statement: This painting was inspired by the beautiful lily, which represents rebirth, love, and purity. I was quite taken by Francesca’s deep love for nature and passion for immersing herself in the beauty that her small island offers. This painting represents not only the rebirth of the lily flower but also the rebirth of spirit after adversity, much like her journey through life after breast cancer. The vibrant colors capture the connection to Earth’s infinite healing energy, reminding us that even in the face of life’s most difficult challenges, nature offers us a sanctuary, a space to heal and emerge stronger than before. There is strength that lies in the delicate petals of the lily and beauty that emerges from struggle.
