Gudrun Wu Snyder is a force of nature, a passionate advocate for holistic wellness, and a dedicated supporter of Twist Out Cancer. As the founder of Moon Rabbit Acupuncture in Chicago, she brings a unique perspective to her role as a board member and past Brushes with Cancer co-chair for this incredible organization.
Twist Out Cancer is a non-profit that provides psychosocial support to individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming. It fosters a global community that empowers and uplifts those facing this challenging disease.
A Healing Touch
Gudrun’s journey with Twist Out Cancer began shortly after her first diagnosis of Breast Cancer over six years ago. Gudrun has always held a deep belief in the power of integrative medicine. As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, she understands the importance of addressing not just the physical symptoms of cancer, but also the emotional and spiritual impact it can have. Shortly after receiving her doctorate, Gudrun founded Moon Rabbit Acupuncture, which focuses on restoring balance and promoting healing through acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other holistic modalities. Her philosophy aligns with Twist Out Cancer’s mission of providing comprehensive support to those affected by cancer.
More Than Just Needles
Gudrun’s involvement with Twist Out Cancer extends far beyond her expertise in acupuncture. She has been an active board member, lending her strategic guidance and passion to the organization. She has also served as co-chair for the Brushes with Cancer program, a unique initiative that pairs individuals touched by cancer (Inspirations) with artists to create original artwork that reflects their journey.
Walking the Runway of Resilience
Gudrun’s commitment to Twist Out Cancer culminated in a truly inspiring moment when she and her 9-year-old daughter Sunna walked the runway at Twist Out Cancer’s latest event, Runway of Resilience. This empowering event celebrates the strength and beauty of individuals impacted by cancer, showcasing their stories through fashion and art. Gudrun’s participation not only highlighted her personal journey but also served as a beacon of hope for others facing similar challenges.
Her involvement in Runway of Resilience happened days before she started chemotherapy for a breast cancer recurrence. Having the Twist Out Cancer community surrounding her leading up to the start of treatment was crucial.
