Artist Statement: My inspiration and I spoke about space, Soul Train, and many other things. He said the moon was a major source of inspiration for him, hence the creation of, “To The Moon And Back”.
The moon and elements of space exist in spacetime far from us physically. I made the painting of the “Hand” to juxtapose feelings of the inner world with the outer world. The hand is universal, reaching upwards, never losing hope.
These rhythms: personal and impersonal, micro and macro, inbreath, outbreath, make up all of our experiences. May we all do our best to move in and out, up and down, around and through this amazing thing called life.
