Helping People Honor Those Lost
Twist Out Cancer, an international non-profit charitable organization that provides psychosocial support to individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming, and Dreame, an international collective of artists, dreamers, and co-creators, announced today a collaboration that can help people pay tribute to, and remember loved ones who are no longer physically with us. The collaboration will kick-off on Thursday, November 18 at noon EST with The Remembering, which is a free virtual event designed to help participants remember and honor anyone that they have lost. Dreame is also offering a custom made art piece, “In My Dreams, I Remember,” which is an opportunity to preserve the legacy, relationship, and connection with a loved one through a unique piece of art to honor their memory.
“I am grateful to have met so many creative people through the ROI Community, including Sharonna Karni Cohen of Dreame. We both have a shared passion of using the creative arts as a way to express our innermost feelings, which can be used in times of grief to remember those we have lost,” said Jenna Benn Shersher, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Twist Out Cancer. “With The Remembering, we are creating an event in which participants can seek insights and lessons from the community regarding healing and the evolution of grief.”
The Remembering is a virtual event, in which participants can explore spiritual experiences for grief that can lead to self-reflection and healing. They will also hear enlightening insights based on personal stories; take part in musical and meditative moments; and will be able to participate in a Twistshop (art therapy session) focused on healing. The virtual event is free to attend, and guests can sign up here.
