Brushes with Cancer Program Details
Brushes with Cancer operates on a cyclical, year-round model designed to meet ongoing interest and demand. Each year, Twist Out Cancer hosts two programs open to the public: a fall program in Philadelphia and a winter program in Chicago. In addition, we license the Brushes with Cancer program to partner organizations to deliver customized Brushes with Cancer programs that scale nationally and internationally, extending the reach of the model to diverse communities and settings. Because these programs run on recurring cycles, we are continually accepting inquiries about upcoming opportunities.

Current 2026 Programs
Brushes with Cancer Winter 2026 is currently underway, with its culminating art exhibition and celebration taking place on March 14, 2026 at Wildman BT, located at 3020 West Carroll Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. This program features 27 inspiration and artist pairs spanning 13 states and 3 countries, reflecting the global reach of the open program.
2026 Brushes with Cancer at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is currently accepting applications for both Inspirations and Artists. Throughout this program, pairs connect either in-person or virtually and the art exhibition and celebration takes place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida. 2026 Colors of SM: Expressions of Life with Systemic Mastocytosis is currently accepting applications for both Inspirations and Artists. This program is facilitated in partnership with Blueprint Medicines to illuminate the profound and poorly understood impacts of living with systemic mastocytosis through the transformative power of creative arts.
