Cindy Bennett and Karen Chatham
The Story
Cindy Bennett
Florida
Survivor of Triple Negative High Grade Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 1A Grade III
Social Media: @Cintavose 66 f (IG)
Twist on Cancer: When I got the cancer diagnosis, I gave myself one month to mourn, and then after that, it was time to be in beast mode and fight for my life. I did it the only way I knew how, by eating right and exercising. I cried, but I also made sure to laugh more and to allow myself to rest when needed. I appreciate life way more now than I ever have. I see color now, the leaves on the trees are greener than I remember. Cancer does not have to be an end to life, but a beginning.

"Surrounded By Miracles"
Oil on Canvas
18” x 18”
$400
Artist Statement: When I first met Cindy Bennett, I was mesmerized by her beautiful smile. I thought to myself, "How in the world can a woman smile like that after all that she has been through? She must be an angel in disguise."
We had lots of laughter and a few tears in several heart-to-heart conversations, and I just want to say that Cindy is more than an inspiration to me. She is full of positive energy that keeps her (and anyone around her) high above the circumstances of this crazy life, including breast cancer. She is surrounded by miracles, evidenced by a colorful aura of strength that shines as she overcomes this trial.
I am blessed to know Cindy, and I pray for her full recovery. She is really something special to me.
